Niels Guns (Maarheeze, 1978) is a Dutch journalist, copywriter and author. Okay, switching tot he first person now: you might just call me a storyteller. Until January 1st 2018 I was the South Asia correspondent for Dutch daily newspaper Telegraaf, tv news show RTL Nieuws and De Ochtend, a program by Dutch public radio channel Radio 1. Prior to that I worked for several newspapers and magazines in The Netherlands. Furthermore, I was a journalism lecturer at the Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Tilburg.
Back in The Netherlands after my tenure in India I became possibly just as surprised about my own country as I was about India. I try to reshape that marvel into stories. Or into advise. For National Geographic for example, I’m making the series Dart-throw in which I blindly throw a dart arrow on the map of the Benelux and write about where fate has brought me. For Dutch daily Eindhovens Dagblad I made stories about the people in my own street for a whole year. Besides that I write for companies and occasionally give workshops.
Do send me a message if you have any inquiry about a possible text, video or workshop I might provide. I tend to be at his best on days that end up tremendously different than he predicted them to be. Knowing that, do not hesitate to reach out to him for a unprompted cup of coffee.
